 to talk about a time period after the American Revolution known as the "Critial Period."  We will be discuss

 all of the challenges the new nation faced.  Following the American Revolution, many Americans moved

 west into placed like Ohio.  The Continental Congress worked hard to come up with a plan for the orderly

 Topic: The Articles of Confederation - America's First Plan of Government

 

 Today's Goal:  During the American Revolution, the 13 states struggled to unite in order to defeat

 England.  However, Americans feared creating a new strong central government that could potentially

 abuse citizens as the British had before the Revolution.  After writing the Declaration of Independence, the

 Continental Congress create a plan of government which for the most part did not work.  The plan was

 known as the Articles of Confederation.  The Articles of Confederation were a poor way to run the nation

 and almost led to the destruction of the United States early in our history.
