Unit #9: Civil War Battle Bingo
Learning Target: I can RESEARCH and SUMMARIZE significant battles and events during the Civil War to EVALUATE their outcomes and importance to the Civil War.

Please complete the steps below to prepare for this assignment:

 Follow the directions below to complete this assignment. 

1.  It's time to play everyone's favorite game Civil War Bingo!  Look at the BINGO card below.  Choose 5 of the battles or events listed on the card to achieve a BINGO.

2.  Download a copy of the prewriting document in order to help you gather information about the individual you chose. 

3.  Conduct your own Internet research in order to discover as much information as possible about the battles and events you choose.  Place your information in the document as a draft. 

4.  Use the prewriting document to answer the questions on the form.  Only the form will be graded.

Part 2: Conduct your research to gather information

1.  Download a copy of the prewriting document in order to help you gather information about EACH of the battles or events you chose. 

2.  Conduct your own Internet research or use the links below to find as much information as possible about the battles and events you chose.  .  Place your answers in prewriting document.  Be sure to
     save.  Be sure to discover the following information about the individual you chose. 

     A.  What is the name of the battle or event you choose?

     B.  What year did this battle or event take place?

     C.  Where did this battle or event take place? 

     D.  Who were the 3 most important people at this battle?  Which side were each of them fighting for during the Civil War? 

     E.  How many people were casualties or died during this battle or event? 

     F.  What was the final outcome of the battle or event?  How did it effect the outcome of the Civil War? 

     G.  Using what you have learned, write a paragraph summarizing the battle or event you researched.  Be sure to include all of the important information you learned. 

3.  You can start learning about the important battles and events during the Civil War by using the resources below.  You will also want to conduct your own research.
