Unit #4: First Presidents - Indian Wars Open Up Western Lands For Settlement
Learning Target: I can APPRAISE how conflicts between the United States and Native Americans opened up western lands for settlement.  

Please complete the steps below to prepare for this assignment:

 Follow the directions below.  You will be creating a tab for this assignment after you have added this lesson's learning target to your LiveBinder.

1.  Open the "Learning Targets" tab in your LiveBinder.  Copy the learning target above into your LiveBinder.  Be sure to include today's date. 

2.  Create a new tab in your LiveBinder titled "Indian Wars Open Up Western Lands For Settlement". 

3.  Now copy and paste the lesson's direction page URL: http://www.mrgigliotti.com/revamp%20January%202015_Indian_Wars_Open_Up_Western_Settlement.htm into the "Enter URL" box at the top of the
    "Indian Wars Open Up Western Lands For Settlement" tab.

1.  Place the following title in your Live Binder text box: "Part I: Biographies"

2.  During this lesson we are going to be learning about a very important battle between the American Army and the Native Americans known as the Battle of Fallen Timbers.  This battle helped open the western
     states such as Ohio to American settlement.  Take some time to explore boxes 1-4 in the materials to learn more about Little Turtle and Mad Anthony Wayne. 

    


3.  Now read a short biography about "Mad" Anthony Wayne and a short biography about the Indian Cheif Little Turtle

4.  List at least 8 facts about "Mad" Anthony Wayne and at least 8 facts about "Little Turtle" in your LiveBinder text box.

4.  Now in your LiveBinder text box, use the information you learned about the results of the Battle of Fallen Timbers and the map below to write a well written paragraph (7-9 sentences) answering the following
     question:
