Please complete the steps below to prepare for this assignment:

 Today you will be completing the activities below using a google doc submission form.  You will NOT be creating a LiveBinder for this activity. 
 
1.  Follow the directions below to explore the digital resources to learn more about the Declaration of Independence. 

2.  As you learn, complete your group's google docs assignment.  You will want to have more than one window open for convenience.    

3.  Submit your google docs form when you have completed the activity.

1.  Watch each of the videos to learn more about the history of the Declaration of Independence: Video #1  |  Video #2 (Be sure to start the video at 17min and watch unitl 28min)

2.  Take a few moments explore the many Blendspace resources provided to learn more about how the Declaration of Independence was written. 

3.  Now that you have learned about the History of the Declaration of Independence, complete the corresponding questions.  Be sure to pres submit when you are done if you would like a grade.

 Part II: Interpret the Declaration of Independence

1.  Now that you have learned about the history of the Declaration of Independence, it is time for us to analyze the document.  In this section, you will be reading short excerpts from the Declaration of
     Independence in order to better understand what they mean.  You must place answers to each quote in the digital worksheet for credit.  BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR ANSWERS WITH THE
     
Declaration Of Independence in Simple Terms BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR FINAL WORK.  You may feel free to edit your answers if necessary.

2.  Read each of the excerpts from the Declaration of Independence found on the digital worksheet. Discuss each of these quotes with your group.  Write what your group believes the quote means in your own
     words. You may wish to look up and define many of the words you read to help your understanding.
